We are deeply committed to our children here at CCC... Raising up the next generation of believers in Jesus Christ is one of the most important missions any one in the church today can undertake. We also realize it is one of the most challenging and rewarding. So we have dedicated many resources to developing vibrant, well planned, and structured experiences for all of our kids at Central Community Church.
Waumba Land is our nursery that is provided for all of our services for infant through 4 years. Our desire is to provide the most caring, secure environment possible for children. Our nurseries are divided by age groups and are staffed by loving, caring and qualified workers who have a passion for young children. This wonderful staff attempts to minister to each child’s spiritual, physical and emotional needs. We know the importance of ministering to babies and toddlers. We endeavor not only to meet the physical and emotional needs of the children, but also to teach them about Jesus and how much He cares for them. Small children may not be able to understand the world around them, but they do know when they are loved and here at Central, we love babies and toddlers!
The Waumba Land vision is to have a nursery of excellence in teaching the Word of God and ministering the love of Jesus Christ to babies, toddlers and their parents. During class time you can expect your child to be...
* Hugged * Taught the Word of God * Prayed for * Fed a snack * Safe * Free to play in a clean, safe environment
We want you to have a time that you can worship and know that your child is in good hands.
- Why do I need to register my child? -
Registration is very important to our staff for security. We need to know the name of each child's parents and what special needs each child may have, it would be impossible to know this information without a registration system in place. We are in the process of raising the funds thru the sales of a cookbook to purchase a computerized check-in system. Until the funds are raised to make that purchase please follow the steps below in registering your child...
Upon arrival you will be asked to complete the registration form
Your child will be assigned a number badge, please attach one badge to your child, one to his/her bag and keep one with you
You must present your number badge in order to pick your child up from the nursery, NO child will ever be released without a matching number badge
If your child or the nursery staff should need you for any reason during the service your child's number on the badge will appear on the big screen in the sanctuary. Please report immediately to see what your child needs.
If your child is potty trained we ask that you please take them to the restroom before taking them to class because of the schedule in the classroom they may not be able to wait until breaktime and it causes a distruption in the lesson each time the teacher has to take one child at a time to the restroom. The class time is very scheduled in ordered to give the children a balanced class of music, learning, snack, play, etc.
For more information please see the Parent's Brochure.
- More about the classes -
Our nursery hosts a loving and caring staff for children infant thru age 3. Our little ones are taught the Word of God in a peaceful, fun atmosphere with songs, age-appropriate lessons and activities as well as snacks. We will minister to your child with tender, loving care. The classes are divided into the following age groups:
Infants - 6 weeks to crawling Crawlers - Crawling up to 1 year old walkers 1 Year old 2 Year old 3 Year old
With the exception of the infants and crawlers, each child is advanced to the age appropriate class on the first Sunday and first Wedneday in August not on their exact birthday. This process helps to keep a balanced number of children in each classroom and it also gives them a chance to complete a full year of curriculum each year.
- Some ways to make your child's stay in our classes more peaceful -
1. Bring everything your child will need such as diapers or training pants, extra clothing, bottle or cup, pacifier. 2. Do not use the nursery as "punishment" for misbehavior in the sanctuary. 3. Encourage your child that the nursery is a safe, loving & fun place to be. 4. After service is over, come back to pick your child up as soon as possible. 5. Take the opportunity to serve in this ministry once a month as a Parental Partner. ~ Top of Page ~
